Mayor Bloomberg is seeking a third term in office after his plans for middle income housing in New York City have become a reality. Six tree houses have been constructed in Madison Square Park. The Mayor explains that each tree house unit can house a family of up to four. The tree houses are made out of loosely nailed together planks of wood. Rents start at $1856 a month. One man was quoted on the street said it would be worth it for the extra space. Many had criticized the Mayor’s unfulfilled promise of affordable housing for all New Yorkers. Those critics now have these tree houses to argue with.
